"We've played them in the preseason a couple times but really haven't gotten a good feel for them in the regular season. They're a tough team with David Boston and Jake Plummer."

Seattle Seahawks 27 - Arizona Cardinals 6

Either Arizona is really bad or we played really good today! Hooray, Seahawks!!! NICE victory!

Can you believe those Cardinals? Twice they moved downfield in sustained drives only to cough up the ball in the red zone. That's demoralizing to be sure. But WAY TO GO, HAWKS!!! Many times this season when we had opportunities for big defensive plays we couldn't quite get there! They made it look easy today!! That's a good feeling!

Major congrats to Ryan Hannam! Ryan who?!?! For those of us who may have forgotten, he was a fifth round pick for the Seahawks this spring. I'm not sure where he's been hiding all season but it was sure fun to watch him catch that touchdown pass! This is a day he'll remember for a long, long time!

Hannam wasn't the only player that took a few extra seconds to identify. It was fun to see so many back-up players getting to spend a lot of time on the field. It is encouraging to see them making big plays and the experience is, of course, invaluable. I thought the mix of starters and back-ups, veterans and rookies, worked very well. Of all the intangibles, that one strikes me as particularly important.

I was also impressed by the sideline shots of Shaun Alexander with Maurice Morris. They appeared to have a good friendship in which they support each other. That speaks loudly as to the team chemistry.

If I had to choose a player of the game it would have to be Matt Hasselbeck. Yeah! Matt Hasselbeck!! I suppose it's easy to be a leader when you're winning, but I saw more confidence in him today than I've ever seen. He didn't make the mistakes of last week and he seems to be earning the trust and respect of his teammates. That's at least half the battle right there.

We've got some tough games ahead but it's going to be fun! For the first time in a few weeks, I saw some real positives in the game. I can't say that for most of our other games, but this time I'm feeling optimistic! GO HAWKS!!
