"Unfinished business. Very unfinished business. We let one get away there with that long drive last year. It's not easy playing the Giants on the road but this one could be a momentum builder for us."

Seattle Seahawks 6 - New York Giants 9

I'll say this for our Seahawks...the defense has improved!!

We had back to back sacks in one series! We put pressure on the quarterback! We held them to field goals! And the best play of the game for the Hawks, in my opinion, was the defensive series just before the end of the first half!

The Giants were in the red zone, trying to take the lead and the momentum into the locker room at half time. It was 4th and goal with :16 left on the clock. A field goal would have put them on the board for the first time in the game; a touchdown and an extra point would put them ahead. On fourth down Shawn Springs came up with a tackle that not only spoiled their chances but visibly upset Tiki Barber to the point that he stormed off to the sidelines! Shawn hit him and kept backing him up in clean, solid play! Good for you, Shawn! It was an awesome tackle full of Seahawks Spirit!! Thank you!!

As for the rest of the game, there aren't a lot of highs (or lows) that come to mind. Our defense was more consistent, frustrating the Giants with their running game. Our offense wasn't able to get anything going on the ground or in the air. Darrell Jackson had some nice receptions but he's the only offensive player who stands out in my mind. Feagles was able to get some terrific punts that left the Giants in poor field position. Lindell made both field goal attempts, providing our only scores for the day.

It was a boring game, actually. (Oh, I won't want to read the mail in my in-box after that comment!) Open it up, give us some razzle dazzle, DO SOMETHING!!!!!!!!

On a different subject, I've got an e-mail friend from Liverpool, England who is flying to Seattle today to see next week's game. He's not coming to the States on business, he's here to tour Seattle and see a game because he's a die hard Seahawks fan. THAT is the kind of fans that Seattle has.

It's my fondest hope that the Seahawks are able to put something together for this fan who is traveling so far to live the dream. I hope Holmgren will have the team on track next Sunday, giving this fan and everyone who loves the Seahawks a weekend to remember!

Go Seahawks!
