"It's going to be a good game. Randy Moss comes to town. Daunte Culpepper comes to town."

Seattle Seahawks 48 - Minnesota Vikings 23

Darrell Jackson said that Daunte Culpepper and Randy Moss were coming to town. Indeed they did!

Randy Moss arrived after a week of media blitz due to the fact that he was charged with two misdemeanor traffic violations involving striking a traffic control officer with his car, after which they found a small quantity of marijuana in the vehicle. Whether or not that distraction was the reason for three consecutive dropped passes we'll never know. The Seattle fans gave him a less than warm welcome to the stadium each time he was involved in a play; I certainly hope better times are ahead for Moss.

I heard an interesting story about Daunte Culpepper during the broadcast. He was apparently born in prison and adopted by Mrs. Culpepper, already the mother of several children with room in her heart for one more. He's come a long way. I wish him the best.

Now ... HOW 'BOUT THAT VICTORY?!?!? Shaun Alexander set a record for the most number of touchdowns by one player in a half! FIVE touchdowns before halftime!! Sweeeeeeeeeeet!! We were able to put 28 points on the board in 1:47 before the end of the first half! Gotta love that if you're a Seahawks fan!

We made mistakes but WHO CARES?!?! It was just so much fun to see that kind of offense, and it was sensational to see our players smiling and having fun on the sidelines! I don't know if I've seen Dilfer smile all season. It was a feel-good time today, no doubt about it!

I wouldn't even know where to begin to praise our players! The usual suspects were there making big plays, Dilfer, Alexander, Engram (who started the game with a huge catch), Robinson, Jackson, Brown, Williams (covering for Springs and doing a fine job), Tongue (with two interceptions and one touchdown.) Tim Terry was incredible with his hard-hitting and his speed downfield. Really fired up!!

I think the thing that stood out on offense is that so many players made blocks for the ball carrier. Mack Strong led the way for Shaun Alexander. Engram, one of my favorite players on the team for his ability to make the clutch plays, laid out a terrific block for Alexander. I like to see the team working together like that. When it works, it is sooooooooo beautiful!

Yeah, we played an 0-3 team who has gone to 0-4; a team that is struggling big time right now. We should take that into consideration when we evaluate our performance. But I think it's OK to celebrate our achievements for a day or two before we roll up our sleeves and get down to business. We won! We took advantage of turnovers! We made things happen! We weren't perfect but we were great!!

What a feeling!
