Preseason Week 1: "Mike Holmgren ... He doesn't look happy but I'm sure he is." -- Pat Summerall, following a touchdown by the Seahawks

Preseason Week 2: "Seneca comes in and, bless his heart, gives us a spark. I was a little disappointed in the protection. He was running for his life, goodness gracious." -- Coach Mike Holmgren

Seahawks 3 - Denver 19 (Pre-season)

What an evening! I went from a full panic to a yawn to jumping up and down!

Any other DirecTV viewers out there pacing the floor when the game didn't come on? I don't know about your guide but mine said the game was going to be on at 9:00 cst! When it didn't happen, I was just a little panicked!!

When the game came on an hour later, instantly everything was right with the world again! I hunkered down in the recliner only to watch the most conservative game of football I've seen in ages!!! 0-0 isn't riveting football! I understand wanting to get out of the game without injury but with Matt Hasselbeck completing 2-of-7 passes for 16 yards in 4 possessions -- YAWN!!! Bring on the regular season and the full competition! I agree wholeheartedly with Mike Holmgren when he said, "I didn't think there was a lot of emotion on offense. That's unacceptable."

The first spark of excitement was when Seneca Wallace threw a long pass downfield! That woke me up instantly! It wasn't the prettiest pass of all time but it showed us that he's got an arm and it connected! I'm with Mike Sando of the News Tribune who wrote: Wallace briefly revived an NFL summer snooze-a-thon Saturday night, giving a Qwest Field crowd of 47,641 reason to raise their sleep masks.

Yeah, we lost the game but it doesn't really matter. I'd like to have seen a little more fire with our first string but I didn't see anything that was worrisome and we did make it through the game unscathed. I think Heath Evans might be a little nervous today but otherwise I'm optimistic!
