Seahawks 23 - Panthers 17

YES!!! We finally won another game! Ohhhh, that was a long time coming and it was oh, so painful a wait!

I'm pleased with our victory but I'm by no means comfortable with our play. We made a lot of mistakes and we need to get the swagger back, plus we need to get some players healed! We're dropping like flies! But despite it all, we had enough good stuff happening to win the game and it's a victory we'll take!

How 'bout that Shaun Alexander?! He racked up almost 200 yards and two touchdowns! It's a pleasure to watch him on the field!

Darrell Jackson had some terrific receptions to go with a couple of fumbles. Had to laugh at the one that was batted around, eventually going out of bounds giving us a first down! I guess it's about time those things work in our favor! For years it seemed that we'd always be on the bad luck end of plays like that but this time it worked to our advantage!

The penalty on the Panthers for delay of game when we were getting ready to punt was a new one on me! It came at an opportune time for us, though I'm still scratching my head at the call. I know that the defense can't jitter and juke to pull the offense off-sides, it's just that I've never seen it called on a punt. I wonder if it's an obscure penalty that's often overlooked or if the Carolina defense made an extraordinarily bad error. In any case, the penalty gave us a first down and a subsequent score.

Jerry Rice was cheered when he caught his first pass of the game! He was later on the sidelines with what was reported as a twisted ankle.

Matt Hasselbeck was booed when he threw an interception straight to a Panther's receiver. I admit to surprise at the booing given Hasselbeck's stellar start to the season. Oh, we are quick to forget the good times and eager to express frustration at the mistakes. We'd do well to remember that he's playing with a sore heel and wasn't able to practice early in the week last week. I thought he played very well and certainly didn't deserve to be booed.

I guess there was improvement over last week, in any case the scoreboard came out in our favor. We're going to have to get a lot better if we seriously want to be Super Bowl contenders though.
