Seahawks 34 - Panthers 14

SUPER BOWL BOUND!!!!

OH MY GOSH! We've done it! The Seahawks are going to the SUPER BOWL!!!!!

Even with 6 minutes left and a substantial lead, I couldn't bring myself to say we'd won! I had to wait until the final two minutes. Then I finally allowed myself to say the words: SUPER BOWL!!!!!

Immediately after the game I got on the phone with friends! It was terrific speaking with so many of you! Thanks for your calls! Thanks for taking my calls! This victory would not be half as sweet if not shared by the true blue fans I've met through the years!!! I'm so proud of all of you for sticking with this team in the lean years!! Isn't it sweet?!?!

My favorite play of the game was the pass to Seneca Wallace!!! Seneca Wallace had played wide receiver in practice this week because of injuries to Darrell Jackson and Bobby Engram. Jackson and Engram were good to go by game day, so what a surprise it was to see Wallace lined up as wide receiver. AND WHAT A RECEPTION!! When Wallace plays the QB position, he scrambles around like Doug Flutie. He's very fast on his feet, and he's twisty and turny and he's scrappy!! (That's good, by the way!) His reception was no different! He poured on the speed, he made a twisty move to catch the ball and he hung on! I laughed and screamed for Seneca Wallace! It was SO beautiful! And I LOVED the celebration between players after the play! To top it off, we scored on that drive! It's going to take a LONG time for me to forget that play! I just loved it!

Our defense was SO tough! They said we couldn't stop Smith. Guess what? WE STOPPED SMITH! They said we'd have to bring pressure on Delhomme. WE BROUGHT PRESSURE ON DELHOMME! They said we needed #12 to win this game. #12 CAME TO PLAY!! The whole thing was so terrific!! I'm still buzzing!!!

Offense, defense, special teams, coaching, cheering -- this was a TEAM effort! We came to play and the Panthers didn't have a chance!

Did American Idol Carrie Underwood do a fantastic job with the national anthem or what? She's beautiful with a voice to match! And I just loved it that Paul Allen raised the 12th Man flag! He WAS the 12th man back in 1997 when Seattle didn't know whether they wanted a football team or not. What a fan to stake so much on this team! Thank you, Paul Allen!

I am still in shock. Complete shock. WE ARE GOING TO THE SUPER BOWL! Finally! After all these years!

Sigh!

So this is how it feels!
