Spirit of 1976!

Seattle Seahawks 23 - San Francisco 49ers 24

Hey! Much better than our first pre-season showing!! It took a while for the offense to get rhythm but once we got it, we got it! I thought Kitna looked very comfortable on the field! I was thrilled to see the completions to Dawkins and once again Pritchard looked good! After hearing the hype from training camp it's great to see results on the field from our receivers!

I still have mixed feelings about our running game but every time I think I might need to rag on Watters, I keep seeing that airborn touchdown he made! Was that incredible or what?! I get very excited to see Ahman Green in the game! So often it seems as though he's going to break it for a long one! He'll have some long TDs this season -- I'm sure of it!! He's so close already and he's not at 100% yet! I'm also pleased with Black and Brown. I see a lot of effort in both players!

I'm frustrated that Christian Fauria had to have surgery again. He's had an injury-plagued career and it seems that this season is more of the same. I hope he recovers well from this latest injury.

Sam Adams and Cortez Kennedy are incredible!! All our players are so quick off the line! It's exciting to see their energy and hunger!!

I want to mention Kevin Glover. Those of you who know his off-season story, those of you who have read about his dedication to the Seahawks, those who have seen his leadership skills surely classify him as one of the all time greats. This is a man who defines class. He had an outstanding play in this game that has been highlighted in many on-line articles. You know, that's not uncommon for him. He rarely gets the press but he's a STAR! Keep your eye on him sometime! You'll like what you see!

Huard finished the game for us in the second half. If you've read the papers, you know the reviews. He made a few serious mistakes. In fact, the game fell apart rather quickly. HOWEVER, Huard was able to lead the team to a touchdown in the final seconds of the game on a drive that was very well-played. Keep in mind that he's a rookie and he's not accustomed to playing in the NFL. Let's try to forget the problems and focus on his accomplishments in the game. He'll get there. I believe in Holmgren and his staff. The very worst thing we can do is to come down on Huard or the other players who are trying so hard to make this team.

I'm a little surprised that Foley didn't play but I understand Holmgren's thinking that he wanted to give Huard more opportunities. It's my understanding that we'll see Foley on the field in the next pre-season game. Let's not make too much of his absence just yet.

I'm very frustrated with Joey Galloway. We need him in camp NOW. I don't like his hold out and those of you who know me, know that I've never really felt his heart is in Seattle. I hope a resolution is reached quickly. Joey, it's NOW time.
