"I was pleased with how (Matt) threw the ball." -- Mike Holmgren after the Seahawks' first exhibition game, 2003

"The coaching is great and I’m getting a lot of help from the veteran guys." -- Marcus Trufant on his first game as a Seahawk

"I don’t think I even got touched once tonight and it’s really a good feeling." -- Matt Hasselbeck giving praise to the Offensive Linemen

Exhibition Game 1:
Seattle 20 - San Diego 7

We're baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack! And raring to go for another season of NFL football!!

I didn't get to see the game because, well, because pre-season games are next to impossible to watch if you live outside of the Seattle area. (And sometimes even if you live in Seattle.) And I didn't get to follow the game on the Internet because I was out of town at a wedding. The cards were stacked against me from the get go!

BUT...it's my understanding that we looked great out there! Matt Hasselbeck was in good form from what I'm reading! The O-line did a good job of protecting him. They spread the ball around to different receivers. All good from what I'm hearing! Go Hass! Go Hawks!

What do you think? Send me your thoughts on the game and I'll post them right here!

We Looked Pretty GOOD!!!!!

While this is only a pre-season game, and I in particular don't put much emphasis on such, I must admit, overall I thought the team looked pretty good! I was unable to either see or listen to the game; but I followed it play-by-play on 'game center'. Obviously you must really "see" a game to make an accurate judgment; however, some of the things I was 'looking' for did come to fruition. K Josh Brown might be a capable replacement for K Lindell. We did not have a lot of the non-concentration type of penalties, and I really look for that in players early on. As they say we were playing pretty much with 'controlled-abandon' and I really like that. We did not appear to have any season ending injuries, with MLB Orlando Huff most likely the worst injured player on the team. Among the less notable players that I prefer to watch in these games, I thought RB Hunter might become a factor as the pre-season goes along. In my view only three backs have a 'lock' to make the team, and RB Hunter just might make the final roster spots at that position a real dogfight. All in all, I think it was a solid outing for the team in their first pre-season game, and the fact that we also won the game was just a little added icing on our cake! GO SEAHAWKS!!!!!

Well said. Ditto. I would like to add that now that Huff is out for a while that it will be interesting to see DD Lewis and Bates battle for an LB spot. Both seemed to be mentioned a lot last night. Also, will Robinson have a starting spot at safety when he returns? Hamlin seems to be ready to start RIGHT NOW (so does Trufant)... And, it looks like Seneca Wallace is going to oust Jeff Kelly for #3 QB. Wallace had a couple of really nice drives last night. It's a lot to look at, and a lot of fun this time of year.... NOW OFF TO INDY ( where I will supply FIRST HAND reporting)..... COME ALONG FOR THE RIDE!!!!!!
