"We're just a different team now. We're not the old Seahawks. We expect to win every game now. We have virtually the same personnel. I think it's just a change in our attitude, in our perception."

-- Seattle Seahawks QB Jon Kitna

Seattle Seahawks 37 - Cincinnati Bengals 20

6-2 and the top of our division!!! WOOOOO HOOOOO!!! Doesn't it feel terrific?!?!

So this is what it's like!! I just feel the need to pause for a while and soak up the glorious feeling!!!

What's not to love about the game today? How many times in the past have the Seahawks won a big game only to follow-up with a loss to a team with a losing record? It could have happened again to today against a struggling Bengal team but our boys stepped forward and took control! I'm so proud of the Seahawks!!

I want to compliment Ricky Watters on his running game! I hope it gives our line more confidence that we can run the ball, and I hope some other teams take notice! I was pleased to see that Ahman Green was given a chance to run the ball, and I'm happy with his performance today.

Jon Kitna did a great job again spreading the field! Mayes continues to be a favorite receiver, and Pritchard continues to stretch out to make those diving catches! Fauria's first catch of the game was lovely! It still surprises me when Seattle actually uses the tight end!!!

Our defense played well but we allowed the Bengals to get a lot of yardage. We held them when we had to though, and that's certainly the main thing.

Holmgren came into this game saying he wanted to open things up against a weak Cincinnati secondary. It was interesting to see that evolve. Each time we tried to go deep, our receiver was leading the defensive players but we couldn't quite get the ball in the right place. The passes seemed just a little short. Had we been playing a team with an experienced secondary, I wonder if more of those short passes would have been picked off.

I guess what I'm saying is that, in my opinion, our experiment of opening the field wasn't a whopping success. Your thoughts?

This week we heard speculation that Joey might return on Monday. Goodie for Joey.

A bit of sarcasm? Yes, I'll admit to that. We have other receivers who have worked SO HARD this season while Joey was playing flag football in Ohio. I don't think it's fair to bump them just because the great and powerful Galloway decides to come back in the nick of time to fulfill his contract year. No matter what the NFL rules state, 8 games don't constitute a year in my book.

OK, I'll say it. I'm bitter about Joey. Fans tell me that for the good of the game we need to welcome Joey back but I say ... look where we are without him!! Where was he when our receivers were injured and we were on our second and third string? Those guys came through for us!!! We owe them something for the effort they gave us while having to listen to everyone say that Joey is better than they are!!! It's going to take a long time for Joey to redeem himself in my eyes. I don't know if it can be done.

And besides, when are Kitna and Galloway going to work on timing patterns? Joey could always try to draw the interference flags as he streaks downfield but we've lost months of experience that should be in place between the quarterback and his #1 receiver. You can't make up for that mid-season.

Anyway, the Broncos will be visiting Seattle at the Kingdome next Monday night. Nationally televised, Seahawks fans!! Wooooo hoooooo!! It's another game that we can definitely win, and wouldn't a victory heading into Arrowhead be nice! If we can beat Denver, it won't be critical to beat Kansas City! Wouldn't it be great to go into Chiefs territory ahead of them in the division, with confidence and skill backing us! NO FEAR!! I'm salivating at the thought!

Go Seahawks!! Get Denver!!
