Seattle Seahawks 26 - Buffalo Bills 16

WE DID IT!!! Goooooo Seahawks!!!

I was worried coming into this game. I have a lot of respect for that slippery Flutie, which he's earned by his ability to get away from Michael Sinclair so many times in this game!! How does he do that?!?!?

Was the first half a dream come true for the Seahawks or what?! I think all our fears from our earlier games were alleviated in the first half! Special teams played well, our offense moved well, we were finally able to score a touchdown, field goals went through, and our reliable defense was ... well, reliable! We had everything going for us and Buffalo couldn't get anything positive happening.

And then came the second half.

I knew those field goals were going to come back to haunt us. We should have had the game put away long before the final minutes but we still struggle in the red zone. Lots of room for improvement in that area. I also suspected that Buffalo would make some adjustments to put more pressure on Kitna in the second half and they did. Even so he made wise choices throughout the game!! I'm so pleased with his leadership!! Isn't it awesome?! I can't wait to see his QB rating after this game!

Willie Williams had some terrific defensive plays today!!! There are days when I'm not his #1 fan but today I really liked what I saw! He was incredible!

How about BIG SAM ADAMS?!?!?!? Any of you who saw the game will know exactly what I mean when I say "that one play!" Can you believe how quick he is off the line? He levelled Flutie before Flutie even had a chance to see it coming! His tackling was awesome today, often by the shoestring but he was bringing them down along with Cortez Kennedy!! Just awesome defense!! I loved it!!

What a shame that Sinclair was only credited with one sack! He was in Flutie's face often but just couldn't quite bring him down! It must have been frustrating for Sinclair to be so close and not quite get the job done!! It sure was exciting to watch! It was a pivotal point in the game when he finally caused the fumble and Sam Adams recovered it to end a Buffalo drive that was picking up steam! Terrific timing!

Phillip Daniels was credited with 2 sacks and Sam Adams with 1. Great job, as were the interceptions by Jay Bellamy and Kerry Joseph who filled in for the injured DAR-RYL Williams.

Does anyone know why Shawn Springs took a kick-off return? Was that weird? Did we know that was going to happen or did it catch you by surprise as much as it caught me by surprise?

Ahman Green. Ready to talk about him? I would sure like to know what's going through Mike Holmgren's head regarding Ahman. We know Green fumbled in preseason. We know Holmgren's policy is that fumblers aren't going to be ball carriers on his team. Fair enough. But let's evaluate Green's performance today. First of all he had an awesome kick-off return for 54 yards! He didn't fumble then, that's for sure! It put us into terrific field position. Then he was given three attempts at running back in which he got 29 yards for an average of 9.7 yards per carry. Didn't fumble, didn't have bobbles, looked fantastic to me! I love his speed. He was also given two shots as a receiver. One went to the end zone when he made a diving attempt and came up empty handed. Yeah...maybe he should have caught that one. The other one was the very next play when Kitna was out of choices and threw the ball back over his shoulder. Even if Green had caught the ball, I'm not convinced he would have done much with it given the circumstances. After that ... no more Ahman Green. I don't get it. Is he fumbling during practice? Am I not seeing other mistakes he makes? What am I missing here? I think he's a terrific running back. Personally I'm willing to gamble on him a little more to see the production we got from him today. I'd love to hear your comments on the matter.

All in all it was a great game, a great day, and now we have some momentum to take with us to the Green Bay game on Monday night! And for all the fans who don't get to see the Seahawks on television very often, MONDAY NIGHT is your night!!! Gooooooooo Seahawks!!!
