Seattle Seahawks 25 - San Diego Chargers 22

Slow down heart!! That was exciting!

In a year that's been somewhat lackluster for the Seahawks, this was a game with an exciting finish!! Did you see the look on Mike Riley's face when Rian Lindell hit the 54 yard field goal in the final seconds of the game to win? He simply closed his eyes and kept them closed for a moment.

That says it all.

The agony of defeat. The sum of the season. The pain we all feel, knowing it's more than just a game.

But this time, WE were on the celebrating end of the finale!!! WA HOOOO!!! I still can't believe it!! I still can't believe how many critical field goals Lindell has booted through the uprights in a season where he's struggled! 54 yards to win the game, time running out on the clock! It's hero time for Rian!!

This was a bizarre game. We came out with a first down strike on the first play of our offensive series and then went to sleep. Dilfer was awful. Our defense was mediocre. Give credit to San Diego because they came to play, but the first quarter had the makings of a very long day for Seahawks fans.

And then ... we put together one really good series that ended in a touchdown reception of 43 yards by Jackson, followed by another reception of 48 yards by Jackson for a second touchdown and suddenly the tides were turned! Charlton got an interception near the end of the 2nd quarter and good things started happening to our Seahawks!

Do we know why Koren Robinson was in Holmgren's doghouse? The announcers said that James Williams would be starting in Koren Robinson's place due to disciplinary action again Robinson. In any case, James Williams had some spectacular receptions including a touchdown pass! I love seeing a back-up have a good day!! He fought hard to keep possession of a pass that was simulatenously caught by a defender, as did Lucas on an interception! We saw some really good, hard football today! I loved it!!

This year Charlie Rogers didn't give us the fun of last season when he was a threat on every return, but he more than made up for it with his big burst on the final kick-off return today! I challenge any true Seahawk fan to stay seated on a play like that!! Give Lindell credit for making the kick, but it never would have been possible if Rogers hadn't run it back to put us in field goal range!! That was a beauty!

So I guess we're still in the playoff hunt!!! It seems unbelieveable but there's a chance!! I dare not get my hopes up. Oops. Too late! Does a true Seahawk fan ever lie down till the very end? Not this one!

GOOOOOO SEAHAWKS!!!!!!!!
