Spirit of 1976!

"That was huge. For us to jump out to a 14-point lead before our offense even stepped on the field, that was a great confidence boost for us."

-- Quarterback Jon Kitna

Seattle Seahawks 29 - Pittsburgh Steelers 10

Now this is the team we expected to see at the start of the season!!! Goooooo Seahawks!!!! We are proud of you today!!!

This time I'm jealous of all of you who got to see the tip by Canty and the touchdown by Hanks!! I MISSED IT!!! I can't believe I didn't get to see it!!! Was it as awesome as it sounds?!?! I didn't make it home in time to see the very start of the game and I'm still kicking myself over it!!

BUT ... I did get to see Charlie Rogers return the punt all the way for a touchdown!!! That was incredible!! He just kept going and going and going!! Great blocks and SO much fun for all of us to be up 14/0 before our offense even walked onto the field!!!

I thought it might be 21/0 when Pittsburgh fumbled but Simmons got a little greedy! Can't say I blame him, as the ball was lying loose on the field and the end zone was in sight, but the rule for a fumble is to fall on the ball, not try to pick it up! As a result the Steelers were able to recover the fumble.

Finally we got to see our offense on the field and if you didn't love Kitna before, you simply had to after he threw his first pass to Pritchard! Can you believe Pritchard is coming off of knee surgery and he's back in the game already?! AMAZING!!! In fact, high fives to all our receivers today! At one point I heard the announcers say that Kitna had thrown to 5 different receivers! That's an offense that's hard to defend! Good job receiving corps!! Pritchard, Mayes, Dawkins, Fauria, Watters ... THANK YOU!

There wasn't much to-do made about it but Watters got his 8000 yard record today! He had some great runs today, finding BIG holes in the defense! It's SO exciting when he breaks free like that!!

I guess we can forgive Peterson for missing a field goal, considering he made plenty more for us today including one from 51 yards! Terrific!

How about those interceptions? One for Springs with a 40+ yard return, one for Bellamy, and one each for the Williams', Willie and DAR-RYL!! Great fun for those of us able to watch the game!!

I don't know about you but I don't think Chad Brown deserved that roughing the passer penalty. That was a little ticky tacky to me.

Yeah, Kitna fumbled. Yeah, he wasn't able to get an offensive touchdown. Does it matter? Not today! Our offense has made great improvements since the first game of the season and I believe they will continue to improve. We're getting there ... and isn't it exciting?!?!

It's back home again now and on to the Raider game!!! Goooooooo Hawks!!!
