Once again I don't have much to day about the performance of Chaffey. I suppose I'd struggle with any player's review in a season like the one we're having.

He has been playing. That much is fact. He has been consistent throughout the season, though it may be disputable whether that consistency is ranked good or bad. He's been dependable and injury-free; that counts for something. He only missed two games that I know of -- the first game when he was suspended due to an incident last year and the mid-season game when he, along with other senior players, were delisted for one week.

As the season winds down and as we face the reality of being at the bottom of the ladder, I'm going to combine the rest of the reports on Chaffey. Let's face it, Richmond aren't getting a whole lot of positive media attention anyway and when they do, it's focused more on the problems within the club itself than specific players. It's been a disappointing year with way too many trials and tribulations for the boys to be able to focus on footy the way they need to. I think we just have to chalk it up to bad circumstances and move forward.

In that respect, I'll leave you with the year's review of Chaffey. Thanks to Chris Greenway for giving me the idea of following a player through a season and filling in gaps for me! I'm sorry that I wasn't able to come up with more viable information throughout the year but I've got to say that it was fun for me anyway. Each week I scanned the papers faithfully to see what I could find; each game I listened to I hoped to hear his name so I could tell you about him! It was fun! I had a good time!

Looking forward to the 2005 seasons! GO YOU TIGES!!

Chaffey wasn't bad, played both ends of the ground and did enough to justify his selection, but he keeps letting himself down with poor disposal and his tendency to slow play down. Chris.

Chaffey had an okay game, took one of the most courageous marks I've ever seen. He at least really wants to play, although I feel he may be trade bait during the meat market that is trade period.
