Richmond 12.11.83 - Port Adelaide 14.12.96
I didn't get to listen to this game live because it came on in the middle of the night for those of us in the States, but from what I can tell, it was a pretty exciting game that we could have won with a bit more luck. It's always disappointing to get so close and not come away with a victory.

This loss makes the run for the finals a bit harder but I still stand by the notion that this is a fantastic year given the length we've come in a very short year. And anyway, maybe our boys were holding out for a victory this coming week! That would be oh, so sweet! (Do you hear the bias in my voice?!) :-)

Have something to say? Please e-mail me! I'd love to hear from you! Please be sure to reference the Richmond Tigers in the subject line for priority mail handling! THANK YOU!

I remember thinking early in this game: here we go again and wondering why nearly every time we get faced with a real challenge we get blown away, so for them to come back and really take this up to Port was great to see and although I wished we'd won we did well to even run them close. Remember Richmond had 3 All Australians out, all players who played well in our win over Port at Telstra Dome earlier in the season and Port had virtually a full list, with one exception, the team that won last years Premiership and they were at home where they enjoy a distinct advantage. Even my friend Graeme (he was at my place to watch the game) got pumped when we came roaring back and he's not generally one to yell and shout during a game.
