Ah, much better!! In a week that was riddled with bad news from Tigerland, the boys stepped to the plate and beat Hawthorn! Good on ya, mate! (Did I really just say that? I can actually string together phrases now that my fellow Americans can't begin to comprehend!)

Of course the big news of the week was that Jay Schulz was caught drinking and driving. The Club enforced the harshest penalties available for an apologetic Schulz but TAC wasn't amused. They promptly cancelled their sponsorship of the Richmond Football Club.

As if the devastation of the humiliating loss from Round 1 wasn't enough, suddenly the club was faced with turmoil from within. As if the financial situation wasn't precarious enough, a lapse of judgment on the part of an injured player cost the club great money.

We've GOT to hand it to Terry Wallace for getting the club back on track to beat a struggling Hawthorn. Under the circumstances, it would have been easy for the boys to be down and perhaps even give up but they fought a good battle and I'm VERY proud of them!

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to get the audio feed of the game this week. AFL.com.au was not operational on my computer, nor was the Richmond or the Hawthorn club sites. I could get RealFooty.com.au, but I was unable to locate a live scoreboard or even occasional updates. It was very disappointing to me not to be able to listen to the game, so if any of you want to share the key points, I'm listening!

Hi Becky,
I wasn't aware of this until after I'd written to you, but someone on the PRE site mentioned it. Apparently AFL.com.au had some sort of problem. MMM were doing our game, you may have been able to log on to their site and get a broadcast. We won by 14 points and we kicked over 100 points, 16 goals 7 points, 103. It was pretty tense in that last quarter, thank God for Kane Johnson, Nathan Brown and Kayne Pettifer oh and Shane Tuck too! Chris.

Hey Becky,
How about Richmond!!! Finally snapped the losing streak and I was at the game. It is the first time I have been to a game where richmond won. It was fantastic. What a feeling. And the hero was the most unlikely person imaginable Kayne Pettifer. He kicked two late goals and sealed it for us. I dont think that it will spark us to win a lot of games but maybe, you never know. If we can keep up with the bulldogs I think that we then can keep up with a few others cause the dogs have done alright so far.

Anyway, enjoy the week cause I know I will.

TIGERS RULE OKAY! (well maybe a tiny little bit),

Hello Becky,
Well I enjoyed my Sunday afternoon. I hope you were able to listen to the game too. Boy what a relief. The end of the longest losing streak in Richmond history! I must admit I was worried during the entire game - you wouldn't want to have a weak heart barracking for Richmond.

I listened to it on Triple M and as I was telling you the other day they have Danny Frawley in the commentary booth, and he's also got a job on a TV footy panel discussion show on Sunday mornings. So he's obviously landed on his feet. The media is probably a lot less stressful than being Richmond's senior coach. I felt a bit sorry for him when the other guys in the booth kept going on about how Richmond hadn't won a game since last may etc etc.

Of course now the dreamers among us start dreaming the great dream again - a Richmond premiership.

Have a nice evening Becky.
