Richmond 20.17.137 - Hawthorn 21.7.133
I am ashamed (!) to say that I gave up on our boys midway through the second quarter and went to bed. Imagine my surprise when I awoke in the morning, pulled up the Internet to see how bad we got whipped only to discover we'd somehow miraculously won!!!! I looked, I looked again, I rubbed my eyes, shook my head, turned my monitor off and back on, and sure enough, the computer screen still showed that we'd won!!! GOOD ON THE BOYS!!! I'm very, very proud of them!

Have something to say? Please e-mail me! I'd love to hear from you! Please be sure to reference the Richmond Tigers in the subject line for priority mail handling! THANK YOU!

Dear Becky,
Well, if you didn't stay up... oh my you missed out!

Although if you had started listening I am sure you would have turned it off and preferred sleep... it seemed gone at most parts of that game. They were up by 42 I think at one stage.. and it looked grim..

and we came back... and faltered... and came back again.. and faltered... and were down by just 12 points at 3/4 time. I was going totally crazy sitting there at the Telstra Dome. Luckily the tiges were kicking to the end I was at in the last quarter... I wanted action down our end and boy.. we got it....

soon into the last quarter they got up to 23 up I thought and well.. in typical tiger fashion we'd lost it and wimped out again in the last quarter.. but then Tambling found something. He raised the bar... we got involved... plus Deledio, Tuck (fantastic all day) and the whole crew.... and despite some horrible kicking by Richo and Schulz who hit the post... it was so frusrrting until we were 1 point down.... with about 2 minutes to go.... I was going nuts... I thought "NO! We can't lose it by 1 point!!!" and they cleared it from the centre... Deledio got it.. bombed it forward when it was grabbed by Schulz in the goal square who quickly, under pressure, handed it to Stafford who passed it to Pettifer who goaled point blank. WE WERE IN FRONT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The crowd went totally wild..... then, the hawks took it down their end.. and I thought "noo! they'll get a goal and rob us" and I'm not sure how but there was a point scored... and with all of 25 or so seconds to go (we didn't know that at the time but knew it was under a minute) GRAHAM all class spoiled a Hawk mark and forced it out and the siren went!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What a way to win!! We did it for Cambpell and Graham! It was absolutely fantastic!!!

I am still pumped over 3hours later!!

GO TIGERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

some fantastic work by Deledio, Tuck, Tambling, Coughlin, Pettifer, Stafford and RAY HALL kicking 3 goals up forward - unusual for a backline player. Fantastic!!

Hey Becky
I went to the Richmond v Hawthorn game yesterday and it was a real blast. For the first time in years we have sent of a couple of champs in the proper way - winning. I thought we had stuffed it but Tucky and Deledio again were instrumental in pulling us out of another hole. If Shane Tuck doesn't win the Best and Fairest something is wrong. Even though we wont make the finals bar a miracle it has been a successful year. from 4 wins to ten is fantastic and we should be proud of them.

Anyway, I gotta go now and I hope that we can win the last game for cambo cause he is an out and out champ.

Hi Becky,
Why oh why do Richmond do this to us? They are not for the faint of heart that's for sure. I was so totally pumped when Pettifer put through the goal that sealed it for us. I was up on my feet, screaming at the television, willing the game to end. Your boy Jay was very good. He didn't do a lot as such, but showed a lot of character and courage to return after a nasty collison and still put his body on the line.
