Richmond 12.16.88 - Western Bulldogs 11.18.84
It's 2am in the US as I write so I'll keep the celebration short for tonight but WOW!!!!!! WHAT A GAME!!!!!

I don't think my heart slowed down from the time Nathan Brown kicked the 8th goal of the game until the final siren sounded. In fact, I was screaming for the siren after we kicked our final goal. It seemed like the last 3 minutes of the game took 27 minutes! I didn't think the siren would EVER sound!!

Wasn't it GREAT when the siren did sound, though!! I don't think the Tigerland song has ever sounded better in the few short years I've been a fan of Australian Rules Football. Did you hear the boys singing? When was the last time you heard passion like that from our Tiges?!?!

OK, yes, Richo was a star today but that was complete TEAM effort in the final quarter, and if any one person gets a pat on the back for performance it's not Richo or Nathan Brown, it's Terry Wallace. I am a believer! Whatever he said to the boys worked, and I'm SO proud of our team!!!

Wheeeeeeeew. I'm actually supposed to go to bed now. How in the world am I going to sleep with my heart racing like it is?!?! This was an AWESOME game!! I loved every second of it!!!

Have something to say? Please e-mail me! I'd love to hear from you! Please be sure to reference the Richmond Tigers in the subject line for priority mail handling! THANK YOU!

It was a cracker of a game! I'm sure the papers will say that there was little skill and a lot of errors made, but honestly who cares? It was close, it had drama, feeling, Richo, what more can I say? I went pretty crazy at the end too. Let loose a few screams of YYESSSSS! Go TIGES! One big WHOOOOOO! Banged the table a few times. It was just the incredible feeling of self belief that the guys seemed to have with this one to come from behind and take it out at the end, plus the fact that it was a full team effort.

Subject: WE WON - AGAIN!

Hello Becky,
Glad you heard the game okay. Yeah it was pretty good wasn't it, although I was worried all the way through. It's a pity about Hartigan's though, but of course we're so blessed with depth at Richmond I'm sure will easily cover it . . . . ? Nathan Brown was giving the Bulldogs supporters a fair bit of cheek from the snippets of the game I saw on the TV news.

Two wins already! Half the number we had all last season. I think Fremantle could be very tough next week though. I'm just grateful it's played here, and not over there.
