You might as well look at the cheerleaders. There wasn't much else worth seeing on Game Day.

What is there to say about the game itself? Not much that I care to rehash. Pat called it very early in the game. He saw from the start that the players didn't have the touch today. I didn't want to admit it; I refused to believe it, thinking any minute now we were going to turn things around. When it finally hit me that the game wasn't going to turn around, it hurt.

Oh, how it hurt.

Honestly, I can't think of one play that was outstanding enough that it deserves mention in a game that was this uneventful. Pat would probably disagree with me, giving credit to the kicker for the 3 point score that saved us from a shut-out. You're right, Pat. He deserves credit for getting his job done.

So what went wrong? Plenty. The odds were against us from the start when Holmgren named Brock Huard as the starting quarterback earlier in the week. It's a decision I don't entirely agree with, not because I don't have faith in Huard, but because I think with my heart.

And my heart is with Jon Kitna, the hometown hero who went to the World League to gain experience and ended up walking away as MVP of the championship Barcelona Dragons! I always be a fan of Kitna's. Always.

I don't dislike Huard, but as Pat mentioned to me before the game, it's hard for receivers to adjust from a right-handed quarterback to a left-handed quarterback. We had to expect incompletions for no other reason than the different spin on the ball. Even so, the rest of the offensive squad didn't step up, nor did the defense. We were flagged for waaaaaaay too many penalties for silly things, and we simply weren't effective on either side of the ball. The coin toss went our way, otherwise the game went downhill rapidly.

Oh yes, there's more!
