Sydney V Richmond Rd 7 2004 Sunday 09/05/2004 SCG

Well following last week's hard fought win against the Hawks, both the Crystal Ball and I are somewhat happier. In fact the Crystal Ball has been humming the theme song ever since and still is.

Isn't it strange how once you get a win after a long stretch without one everything seems to get back on track all at once? Not only did the team get some confidence, but they also regain the services of Greg Stafford, which allows Richmond to drop Ben Marsh, who unfortunately doesn't seem up to it and Matthew Richardson, which will assist them greatly in the forward line and allows Nathan Brown to move back into the midfield and be far more creative.

The SCG has traditionally been rather a happy hunting ground for the Tigers, but having said all that and even knowing that the Swans have a few injury concerns I have to pick the 'Bloods'. The Crystal Ball agrees and is showing me flapping red and white streamers. The Swans play that toy ground far better than any other side and it suits their style and team makeup. They are also smarting after a couple of losses on the trot and need this win to get their season back on track. The Tigers have nothing to lose and should throw caution to the wind and go in hard, that will make for a good spectacle and close the gap between the two sides.

The Swans won't have it all their own way, but Swans swim better than Tigers and I think they'll cross the line first on Sunday.

So there you have it, round 7 in a nutshell.
